Anyone who sees this as a black and white issue is simple-minded.
The proposed burning of copies Koran is purely hate and racism, and shames Americans, alienates Muslim Americans, and is a dishonour to Muslim American SOLDIERS who died in Iraq and Afghanistan. I'm 100% for freedom of speech, but don't pretend this is anything OTHER than bigotry.
The burning of the Bibles was a COMPLETELY different. Had nothing to do with hate, but with Military policy that no troops can preach or proselytize while serving on duty. The fact that troops were being sent Bibles in Afghan language was completely inappropriate. No one burned the Bibles out of hate.
I'd also point out that you should be careful. You have a total of 9 posts on this forum, and are already posting subject matter that will incite arguments and problems.
Just a little reminder for people;

Petraeus is right to be concerned over the men under his command that may die because of this idiot burning Korans but he is wrong to speak out about it. Freedom is often counterproductive in the short term but in the long term it is a powerful force for good.
I don't see any double standard. In both cases Petraeus is concerned only about his mission and his men.

Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.
