What does your Sig mean?

#1

Post by vampyrewolf »

I'm on a roll, posting the questions lately...

here's a good one. I've seen many odd sigs, what does your sig mean?

Mine, I got on 9/11/02, watching the TV tribute that was on all day(satelite TV, 500 channels +80 music)... one of many quotes that work well for daily use...

this one was by Confucus(think I got the spelling right)...

Mine is the motto of one of my early company commander's back when I was a very young NCO. It was the trademark of his leadership. I don't know why it resonated with me so deeply, but it did. He set the example, but he left it for me to sort out how to live up to it. And I will be honest enough to tell you that although it has always been a guide for me to live my life; I have not always been successful in living up to it. It is a difficult stricture to live by, but it has always helped me keep close to my center.

V-Wolf,

Mine is self explanatory although I will often vary it to match or contrast the post. I think I changed it once on September 11 this year to quote Herodotus - "In peace, sons bury their fathers; in war, fathers bury their sons."

Hi People,
Well my Sign off reminds me (and hopefully, others) that there are a lot of paradoxes in life and that although life can only be understood backwards, it has to be lived only forwards. (Heck! I think i got a new sign off there!!) <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Have a nice day all,

Hi all,
I think one of the funniest signatures I have seen is a quote from Chuck Cmassicotte, which is his mantra: "Spydie is good, Round is all - Life is Round, Life is Good, Spydie is Life is Round is LIfe. Round and Round, and Round forever." Good one Chuck <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> -Aarenb

Though I don't have one so far, I recently found something that defines the reason(s) I love <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>.

Repeat the mantra - "Spydie is good, Round is all - Life is Round, Life is Good, Spydie is Life is Round is LIfe. Round and Round, and Round forever." (Chuck.)

Hi Vampyrewolf,

I believe the quote you used was from a speech by Nelson Mandela. To me this quote is just an other sign of the greatnes of this man.

My self: I don not have a sig yet, but I have been collecting a few. Some are very funny, some are very brilliant, some are awfull but typical for their users.

I will post a few, with regards to the people who posted them:

What are you taking about?!? Penis size does matter!!! Over 1000 penis pump advertisments can't be wrong...

~I want to die like my grandfather - sleeping...not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car.

***insert tag ripped off from 1st Conan movie***

I hope to collect a lot more.
If you follow a lot of forums, you could write a book about the tags/signatures
But unfortunatly, by taking the sig from the forum most of the meaning disappears....

Well just for old time....:

Mine's an old saying, but I picked it because it describes the typical Cornishman quite well.

I grew up on The Lord of the Rings, and recently my wife has been getting into the books as well (admittedly after seeing the first film). My sig seemed like an awfully appropriate quote for this forum.

Well, mine was the product of signing up late one night, and this was my first coherent idea.

Working on others, though. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Mine is an amusing Japanese saying. It means, "There is nothing that can be done about it." No one could explain to me the significance of ginger.

While reading this thread i have begun toying with the idea of other cordage. Para cord perhaps, but it did not make good shoe strings when I tried it in that capacity.

Edit:
Perhaps Jute or Manila
