Favorite knife? What is your most 'Prized' knife...

#1

Post by Pharmagator »

I assume that the great majority of us would list Spyderco as our favorite knife company, and many collect only Spyderco knives... but we all have a most prized knife... one that is the 'top of the top shelf' in our collection...

I am not talking about your favorite user... (mine would be my old PS Military or perhaps my new Para-2)

but what is your most prized knife overall?

Most dear to me is this old unknown brand fixed knife that i've had since i was about 8 years old. I don't ever use it...it just sits in a box. It's just one of those things i'm nostalgic about.

Other than that i'm really really close to my Caly 3. I can see myself handing this knife down to my son someday.

I have nearly a hundred knives... collecting for 40+ years... most are Spyderco...

but my most prized knife is my Dad's old Buck 'muskrat' that he carried daily, and only came to me after he died...

I wonder what my son will do when he is going through all my 'collections' and realized that his dad was a certified pack-rat... (with good taste, imo)

A Boker tree brand stockman with a punch blade that my grandfather carried is my one favorite. I cleaned it up so it looks like new. The clip blade is slightly broken on the tip but it is still solid. It must be over 50 years old, he has been gone for 25 years so I can't ask him.

I have approximately 20 Spydies and my favourite would have to be......

CF Military S90V.... to admire and pet. It is a very sexy knife!
D2 Paramilitary.... to actually use. It is big enough to handle everything I would ever want to do and small and light enough that it is a practical EDC. BEST BUY FOR MY NEEDS!

My grandfather gave my mom a miniature working folding buck replica that is an earring and she gave it to me a couple of years ago.

I would have to go with my D2 para. There is just some thing about the lock, the color, the steel, the ergos, it's just the perfect knife. I have plenty of other spidies, but that one gets more pocket time than any other.

I have about 70 knives, use to have more :o .
All of them, except two are Spyderco.
My favorite knife, my favorite EDC, and favorite user is C83 Persian. Fits my hand like a glove and drop dead gorgeous.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

Hard one. Can't really pick one, or even two. There are a few I've received from Sal as gifts which I cherish and would not know how to rank. Same with a few, both Spyderco and other, that I've received as gifts from good friends. To rank one above the other would be both impossible and somewhat rude. There's the C83 Persian which was first prize in a popularity contest here. There's my sambar stag Kiwi that's as close to my vision of the ultimate version of model as I'm ever likely to see. There's Ed Schempp's custom all damascus prototype of the C105 Persian. And the list goes on.
