They just don't get it

A place to list and reference all Spyderco counterfeits, clones, and replicas that are found. Anything that isn't a legitimate Spyderco fits in this area.

I can't remember if this is the same seller but quite frankly I am getting damned tired of reporting a listing for this POS.

Yeah, I have no sympathy with people who sell trash like this and pretend later that they didn't know it was a knock-off. It takes a few minutes to check whether something is fake or not before selling it and the onus is on the seller to make sure that they are not breaking the law

Same s**t, different seller, at least from the one I noticed a week or so back. Which is not to say this one hasn't listed this, or similar junk before.

FWIW, I just reported it to eBay as a trademark infringement.

I did the same, Paul!

I mean what dumb-***! All for his whole $10 he is asking for it!

I sent him a message too... we'll see how he responds to a message from Spyderco. ;-)

Thank you, as always, for bringing it to our attention.

I reported it early this afternoon as well. You'd think after so many reports it would have been taken down by now????

The only report that might get it pulled instantly would be a communication directly from Spyderco to eBay complaining of the trademark infringement. In fairness, eBay has no way of knowing if you and I are correct, or perhaps just have an axe to grind with the seller we report.

Well, nobody has been suckered into bidding yet so that's at least one good thing :)

Things like this make me so angry. What makes me even more mad is that people still bid and get ripped off, even though it looks like a piece of junk and something spyderco wouldn't even think of selling

Just an update... I heard back from the seller and he has removed the auction. Through my e-mails with him I believe that he honestly believed the knife was a Spyderco and was led to believe that by his supplier. He's learned a lot about us now. ;) He seemed like a nice person and he's done the right thing without any arguing or posturing.

Again, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Looks like we have another one. I reported the item and contacted the seller to let her know. She has been a member since 1999 and has 100% feedback so perhaps she just doesn't know.

Response:

I am posting on my listing so that bidders are aware. I do not know
anything about this knife, whether it is "real" or a knock-off, so
please bid accordingly. What you see is what you get.

(sigh) ... as if it is perfectly legal to sell a fake, as long as you tell people it is a fake? ... some people ... sheesh ... "It's OK officer ... I wasn't sure whether it was stolen property so I said on the advert that it might be hot ... what you see is what you get!"

EDIT: looks like the listing is unchanged (no mention of it being fake when I just checked) so have reported it again to eBay
