Anyone Like And Use Their Chokwe
Anyone Like And Use Their Chokwe
I bought a Chokwe a year or so ago. It took me a bit to really like and use
it often thou. Its part of my edc now...I Really like it now. Its a Great knife.
Do anybody else like the Chokwe?

The Chokwe is one of my surprise favorites. I actually don't carry it much, but I use it frequently around the house for light duty tasks. It's the fastest, smoothest opening Spydie I have, and is much more comfortable to use than I expected it to be. I find the history behind it very interesting too.
I have one and like it a lot. Initially, I wasn't sure if I'd get one, but did so anyway. Once I got it, opened it, and handled it, I was quite convinced that the Spyderco Chokwe was one heck of a knife!
It doesn't look like it'd be practical or comfortable to handle, but the history behind the design shoed it to be truly time proven. The Chokwe is quite comfortable indeed in ever grip I've tried, the action is quite smooth, and it reminds me a lot of the workings of a Chris Reeve Sebenza.

I absolutely love mine. It's beautiful, different, and well made. Works like a charm too. Smoother than any knife I've got.

OOh yeah, I like my Chokwe & it likes me. All the reasons above + good to Spydie bat & great steak knife & toothpick.
Now, as I have been known to say before, If you don't have one, why not? You will kick yourself later when they are a rare & endangered classic.
Should have bought more Chokwe's, like you should have bought more Ronin's Yojimbo's & Dodo's. :) Oh! C44 Dyad's as well.

Zvir,
any chance to get an english translation for your review? I would love to read that, but cyrilics s*cks to me
I cant read that.
Chokwe is one of those "ifs" for me, I dont have one and I would need to play with one to decide, its hard to buy one like that just based on pics. One must feel it.

Oh, however I think your english is pretty fine. Maybe just read that in your language and re-write that in english, it doesnt have to be the whole text :)zvir wrote:Sorry man, i not so good in English. I can understand it, but can't speak and translate![]()
If you have time and are interested, of course.

My wife just unexpectedly bought me a Chokwe for my B-day... What a Knife! Everything people said about it is true. Incredibly smooth opening. Comfortable in the hand. And I love the thin pointy blade. It is bigger than most of my other Spydies (I usually go for the Delica and Caly3 sized knives), but it is growing on me fast.
