Mosaic Pins

#1

Post by angusW »

I'm really itching to put on the scales for my Swick 2 and Mule. I have the scales but I'm thinking of using mosaic pins.

After seeing the prices for mosaic pins I'm thinking of making them myself. I have most of the material already but only problem is, what do you use to keep it all in place. Has anyone here made them before? Do you fill the outer tube with glue or epoxy and then insert the small tubes and bars? Any help would be appreciated.

everything i have ready about mosaic pins mentions the use of epoxy to hold all of the inside pieces in place; additionally most people score the outer tube and use the epoxy to hold the pins and scales together rather than beat them with a hammer.

I'm sure I'll be able to find an epoxy that is runny enough to allow all of the innards to be coated.
