Same with my knives. :Dv8r wrote:I can whack it to my hearts content and the blade never loosens up........and yes Deacon there is always a loose nut behind the handle?!
I still can't figure out why it dosen't cut that well?any ideas?
As for cutting, I don't have a Forager, or any of the other Hossoms for that matter, but the first question that comes to mind is how thick is it behind the edge? I find that makes a lot of difference in how well a knife cuts. As an example, the Calypso Jr. has the same 3mm FFG blade as a dozen other models, but will out cut them all because it's thinner behind the edge. Thinking that, since the Hossom's were built as "choppers", they may have opted for a thicker edge.

Sorry brother that was a lame attempt at being funny. I should have said the spine dosen't cut very well. :D my Forager cuts fine for what it was intended for. It is the last knife I remember cutting the crap out of myself with.I was showing a buddy at the shooting range how sharp it was by shaving my arm......well it shaved off a little more than hair  :o

Maybe you didn't whack it hard enough!!!...Doc :p
Maybe you didn't whack it against anything hard....I suggest you whack it hard on your forehead and see if anything loosens up, if nothing happens, repeat many times...that's the only way to test for consistency....Doc :)
