Para-Military2 - Clarification/Announcement

#1

Post by TazKristi »

Just wanted to clarify something that was recently alluded to regarding future versions of the Para-Military2.

It was mentioned that there might be a Para-Military2 coming with Carbon Fiber and CTS-20CP steel from Carpenter. Little mix-up there. So, here's the scoop!

The C81CFP2 is a Para-Military2 with Peel Ply Carbon Fiber scales and CPM-S90V (Crucible Steel). The C81CFP2 is targeted for release by the end of this year.

The C81GGY20CP2 is a Para-Military2 with Gray G-10 scales and CTS-20CP (Carpenter's equivalent to S90V). The C81GGY20CP2 will be a 2011 release.

Both of these are slated to be Sprint Runs.

And no (I'll beat ya'll to asking), I don't have any more detailed ETA info. ;)

Well that takes all the fun out of my next question. Thanks Kristi!

I like it! There is a "user" and a "fancy" model. Plus it gives us a chance to try two different but very similar steels in the same platform.

Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the scoop! That is great news!

Gray G10 sounds sweeeeet, I think I'll eschew the regular model and save up for that version instead.

Not a huge peel ply CF fan, so this is good news for me. I'll be all over that CTS-20CP with grey G10 scales! 2011 is fine for me, as there are too many great knives right now anyway, so it'll give me time to save up more money.

Hi Kristi,

If available, can you please provide us with the MSRP for these 2 knives?

Thanks!

These sprint runs sound great--especially the gray G-10. But I'm wondering: will there be an SE Para 2 in any version?

Most sprints are available at the usual dealers and this shouldn't be any exception: spydercovt, New Graham, KnifeWorks, Knife Center, Cutlery Shoppe, etc...

You can usually email any of these guys ahead of time and get on a pre-order list if you're worried about availability, but these sprints might be far enough out that they aren't taking pre-orders yet.
