Nice!

Good to hear from all of you.

I have a PM to the Admin to figure out what images we can have permission to use...

Then, we can look at some designs...

Then, I think I found someone who can handle the distribution.

So, stay tuned.

Heard back tentatively, have sent off another email, to make sure we don't step on anyone's toes....

My wife is a Graphic Designer, so she can help with the design, though I would open to anyone, from forum members who have the skills all the way to just someone who can even mash up something on Paint (which could then be refined).

Then, I have a friend, and a huge Spyderco fan, who I think will be doing the distribution.

Best,
Marion

If I made it to knife shows this would appeal to me.

NO real names just forum ID.

Everyone should submit ideas but a skilled graphics designer should be the last one in the loop along with Spyderco. I bet Spyderco has someone who meets that description.

I suggest a contest with a cheap a** prize for the forumite submitting the "accepted" design. The real prize would be being recognized here.

I personally suggest a simple design that incorporites the trade marked hole. Keep it simple, direct and in just a few basic primary colors. No holograms or gimics. Keep it simple and inexpensive to produce.

If the design went over well Spyderco might grace us with the design on Spyder gear.

I am already thinking of possible designs and I am not a graphics artist or designer.

On a serious note what would be the prefered format for submitted designs? This could get complicated.
Not really all that slick ;)

I'd like a patch to go on a Maxpedition or something. A badge would be cool.

Absolutely as long as it is tasteful and understated, such as a Spyder with LED flashing eyes clutching a deadly Mamba. A sound chip of the wailing Mamba and snickering Spyder would be an added plus but if it adds to much to the cost I can always make my own sound effects. Ok, just count me in for whatever you come up with.

How about a simple design along with a pic of the knife of your choice? That way you don't have some people turning away from this because it doesn't have something they wanted on it. Just a thought.

I like the idea, but please keep it uniform - no personalizations, or different/multiple badge designs.

I'd really like to get either a Spyderco velcro patch or a Spyderco Forum velcro patch for my Maxpedition bags, but making them all individually customized seems over the top.
