Maybe the perfect Spyder

Never owned a Native because I didn't like the FRN, and the blade left me cold. But, the 4, in CF, FFG, is just pure joy. There is no Boye cutout, the lines are smooth and unbroken opened and closed. Locks in the hand, making the smooth CF a non-issue. Love this one folks:

You can take it apart fully. All screw with the CF.

Do any of you really use the carbon knives? I know it's strong for some applications but lets say i used one for EDC and really beat it up...do they delaminate and splinter and get all crappy looking? I just don't know if i could spend the cash on such a nice knife only to beat it up using it.

In my experience carbon fiber wears wonderfully. No it does not delaminate and definately doesn't splinter. The worse that can happen on a polished carbon fiber like this is you get a scratch in it but its very strong stuff. I'd say it wears about the same as g10. I definately don't have a problem using my carbon fiber knives. They're functional and they look dang good doing it. :)
Current Spydercos: CPM-D2 Para, Mini Manix 80mm, Sage 2.
Waiting on: CPM-M4 Military.

Yes, I can testify that it is hard as ... I dropped mine the other day (a smooth CF) and was worried that it would have scratches but it didn't have a single mark - good as new. :)

That Native looks superb too - must get one one day.
My spydies: Squeak, Tenacious, Terzuola, D'Allara, UKPK CF peel-ply pre-production, UKPK CF smooth pre-production, UKPK G10 orange leaf-blade, UKPK FRN grey drop-point, UKPK FRN maroon leaf-blade, Bug ... all PE blades :)

I have been carrying my CF Sage 1 to work everyday for a couple of months. It has been dropped a couple of times and been put through daily tasks and looks as good as the day I bought it.

CF is tough stuff. I wouldn't worry about it getting banged up unless you really are too rough on your tools. I also have 1 of the CF Natives. What a classy looking knife it is.

I have never held a carbon fiber knife-or carbon fiber anything that I remember. My FRN Endura provides me more grip than my G10 Endura. Is the carbon fiber slippery? Some looks slick some looks more grippy.

Nice knife. The CF on the Native 4 is pretty slick.

That's a great leap forward from the old style Native. Got to love that FFG blade.
