Pull strong side back, defend with forward arm. Draw knife from pocket. Hold in hand that has drawn, other hand pinches the Spyder hole, and pull apart.
Mike Janich taught this a few years ago, I bought into it then. It works well in practice and makes sure you have a secure opening.

Tenacious is a liner lock though. This full-flat-ground-blade's-lower-inertia problem seems to be isolated to back locks that put a lot greater pressure on the blade as it opens than other knives lock types. At least that's what I've noticed.
Actually when I took the FFG blade of the G10 Endura and put it in a FRN Endura 4, the deployment was still very fast. I'm not sure why that is. This was before the release of the FFG FRN Enduras.
I bet it's shape of the blade. Both tenacious and endura has more mass up near the tip of blade, whereas chinook has most of the mass near pivot, thus less inertia you can store in the blade.
