What's your oldest Spydie still in use?
An Endura (G-2 Stainless Steel) with molded clip fully spydie edge... I didn't sharpen it for 12+ years (6 of which it saw heavy use). Getting it back to cutting leather like butter proved to hard for me (even with profile stones, though its much closer than it ever has been). So I've replaced it with an Endura 4 SE, and a Caly3 ZDP for a PE option. So I guess it isn't getting regular use, but I do take it out some days as I feel guilty about putting such a "dear friend" in full retirement :)
My oldest went into retirement when I handed it to a friend to cut open a package, dropped on concrete tip down. That was a Delica 1 SE dinged up in 99 or 2000.....my second retirement was forced on me by airline security ....my fault and offered the guy 50 cash to send it to me at home(forget to bag it when I packed to go home). He wouldn't do it, that combo blade was a dear friend...had seen use I would have never expected a knife to take, from wood to moose, bear, deer countless fish rope and so on. Now I have a case with a few delicas hawks and so on and I carry a Tenacious and another brand...can't stomach the idea of losing another friend.
Lol grabbed some of the new Delicas and even at there price point I can't get myself to carry one. They are everything I want in a Delica...but so dang perfect I am hesitant to make the first cut with them.

Ihave an old G2 Endura with the molded in belt clip and the serrated edge. Thinking I might like the plain edge, I ordered a newer G10 Endura a few years ago. However, Iprefer the way the older one rides in my pocket, so I continue to carry it. As long as I clean and oil it occasionally, it just keeps doing whatever I need it to.
BTW - what is the best way to sharpen the older serrated edge?

My oldest Spyderco still in use is NOT my longest owned Spydie. In fact, it's a fairly recent acquisition. A C02 Mariner, which when received, would not cut butter. I had to really work on this one just to get ANY kind of edge back on it. I may still send it in to get sharpened right.

I've restored some really worn serrations using the Byrd Duckfoot and the SharpMaker.John47 wrote:Ihave an old G2 Endura with the molded in belt clip and the serrated edge. I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.

Original FRN SE Dragonfly has been my EDC for sixteen years. Bought it in Ketchikan, Alaska on a family cruise. Visiting from California, I was very proud of the fact I purchased it tax-free. It's held up extremely well over the years and only a month or two ago did I finally send it in to W&R for resharpening. It's probably good for another sixteen years now.

I sometimes carry a near mint G-1 Mariner.I only have had it a few months-was factory sharp. My father owned one so I bought one just like it off Ebay for half the price of a new one.I saw his and liked it but had two babies in diapers back then, could not afford one.It has been used very very little. It was made in the early 1990s.

The second Spyderco I bought, an Endura 3 still gets used almost everyday. I switched the clip for left side carry (I've got a right hand EDC rotation and a left hand EDC rotation) and keep carrying it a lot. Out my three Enduras, it's the one I use the most.
My very first Spyderco, a Viele (the old one with AUS8 blade) also gets some pocket time, although it faces a lot of tough competition.
Here's a pic of my three Enduras. The one in the middle is the one I use the least.
