Thanks to All Ohio MBCers!

Post by Michael Janich »

I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to everyone who participated in the MBC Level 3 and 4 classes this past weekend in Grove City, Ohio. Most of the class consisted of folks who had attended my Level 1 and 2 classes there back in February; however, I was also very happy to see several MBC alumni from Colorado classes come out to play.

Everyone trained hard and asked excellent questions, making the entire training process extremely dynamic and fast moving. The fact that most of the class consisted of seasoned and often high-ranking martial artists made it particularly interesting. In addition to knife craft, we also had an opportunity to address the use of the stick (especially the ASP), cane, and staff and do quite a bit of MBC-inspired empty hand work.

I'd like to express a special thanks to Dave Holloway and Elaine Hardesty for hosting the event and making everything flow so smoothly. Based on their outstanding support, I'm planning on conducting regular MBC seminars at their location at least twice a year. So if you can't make it all the way to Colorado, start planning on meeting us in Ohio.

Again, thanks to you all and congratulations on completing al four levels of the MBC program.

Stay safe,

Congratulations on another successful set of seminars, Mike! Wish I coulda been there.

I got to meet & work with Dave H. on his trips to Colorado--he's definitely committed to the martial arts and it's great to see him enabling the Spyderco MBC program to reach out beyond Golden, CO.

Keep spreadin' the Good Word, everybody!

Mike:

Do you have firm dates for when you would be offering MBC 1&2 in Ohio again?

Dear Jim and Mickey:

I'm working on my schedule for the first half of next year right now. Although I don't have exact dates, look for MBC Levels 1 and 2, and perhaps a Counter-Blade Craft class, in Ohio during March 2003.

The only firm 2003 date I've got so far is 7-9 February for Levels 1, 2, and CBC in Wenatchee, WA. If you're closer to the left coast, you may want to give that some consideration.

As soon as I sort out all the dates I will post them on the forum and pass them to Spyderco so they can update their registration information.

Thanks for your interest.

Stay safe,

mike j
