Eagletac flashlights...anyone have any experiences?

#1

Post by sarguy »

Hey gang. I'm considering purchasing an Eagletac P20C2 MkII as an EDC light. The CPF site has lots of information, almost too much. Basically this light is appealing because it looks to be bright enough, is just barely thin enough, has the forward-clicky switch I like, and with the crenelated bezel (for fashion or otherwise), looks moderately smash-y for use as a last ditch defensive weapon.
Anyone have any experience with Eagletac products?

I had also been considering the Fenix TK series, but I like having a belt/pocket clip and would prefer that the head of the light not be too much larger in diameter than the body (all things that influence my ability to carry in scrubs or slacks)

If there's another light out there that seems to meet these vague criteria, I'm all ears, too.

Thanks!

I've an older model, the P100a2.
The quality of Eagletac is very good.
You can't go wrong with it.

Here's a nice review of the P20c2 markII

I like the XP-G led it uses.
It has a nice combination of throw and spill.

Never heard of EagleTac. Looks like a nice light. I’ve so far resisted lights that us the CR123A batteries as the batteries are almost $9 apiece locally here, but 300 Lumens should be a ton of light. My brightest light is a Fenix LD20 that puts out 180 Lumens, and it is one amazing light, and uses standard AA batteries. Good price on that EagleTac light too.

Here is some stuff on YouTube on the EagleTac lights. They look like nice lights.

Eagletac is a great company that produces some good flashlights at a reasonable cost.

To be honest all the Chinese flashlights are pretty much the same thing in different skin, just go with one that looks good to you.

Thanks for all the input! I appreciate the youtube link; I stumbled across the eagletac lights at work and youtube is blocked there. Now that I'm at home I'll be researching fully. It's always nice to have the opinions of my fellow forumites to consider as well.

I remember Mr. Janich stated that he carried an Insight Tech-gear light, but I can't find that thread. Anyone recall what it was?

(32 hours of OT on this check ought to = a blade or a bright, right? ;) )
