Graduated!!!

#1

Post by slice22358 »

Ah today was my high school graduation!!! I'm off to OU in August :D And even better, one of my family friends, who I recently introduced to Spyderco, gave me a copy of The Spyderco Story as a gift :)

So besides the good news, I have one question: does anyone know the knife policy of OU or colleges in general?

congrats. knife rules usually vary from campus to campus. I go to sam houston state and they couldnt care less if you have a knife. as long as its within the legal limits.

Congratulations! I read through the whole Spyderco story book, it is a good read. :)

I don't think I carried at all when I was in college. Maybe after doing some checking around and watching what other people do, you can post back here to tell how carrying on a campus goes.

I think I've seen some mention of people carrying on campus and they needed to change their carry habit for when they went to class.

Congrats! Classics, much to be learned there. History does repeat itself.

In PA anyway, no knives at state universities and colleges as far as I know.

Congrats, slice. :D

I just graduated with my masters in May. Man, does it feel good to finally be done. :p

I'm sure you are going to thoroughly enjoy your time at college. Just make sure to use your head and trust your instincts.

I went to school in NY so knives were a huge no-no. I'm not surprised if it's different in Texas. I'm sure it varies from campus to campus. During your orientation, the school should provide you with rules and reg's. Give it a read and it should mention knife possession. If it doesn't, I'd assume the local laws are applied.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tip, I'm going up to register in a few days, and I'll see what I can find out.

Congrats!! I went to college at UT Austin, were I know for a fact you are allowed to carry any knife which is legal in the state of Texas.

However, the Yellow Rose weeps as one of her sons crosses to the Sooner side... I give it a year before you see sense and throw on some burnt orange :-P.

Seriously, best of luck to you... I will always remember my college years as the most fun of my life.

congrats on graduating! The years go by fast! I'm already a sophomore in college and high school seem like last year! lol

As far as knife carry on campus goes, it depends. I carry a knife RFP when I am on campus as long as you abide by state laws you are ok here at least!

Good luck to you :)

Congrats!!! I'm graduating in December from College, hang in there and don't get discouraged. Remember, if you feel like you are lost at some point in a course, there are at least 10 others in your same position.
