What's your favorite Non-Spydie to Carry?
I guess I've just been totally assimilated... I can't remember the last time I carried a non Spydie....
I own several, from older Gerbers and Bucks to my most recent (full size and mini skirmish) but none EVER get carried....
I mean, seriously, I have more Spydies than I can reasonably carry

I'm a newbie with spydies and high-quality knives in general, really. I'm certainly loving my delica 4 and caly 3 (especially the caly 3) but am thinking of making a purchase (gasp) outside of the spydie realm. Just wondering what the hype is all about with the Boker's. I'm thinking that its between a subcom (depending on what I hear back) and a dejavoo.
Best,
Jim

I always carry my Gerber Emerson Alliance most of the time in its sheath (not a fan of a bunch of knives cluttering my pockets) in my left front pocket is a red Vic cadet just loose in there and either a Spydie Native PE or a Gerber AR 3.5 partially serrated, and in my back right pocket I usually have my fully serrated endura. The only exceptions are at work I will have just the Vic and a cheapie Kershaw Oso Sweet (people around where I work over exaggerate knives real bad, not to mention I dont want anyone taking my Gerber away) and at school (not really supposed to have knives at the academy but I always do, plus most of the instructors know me and are pretty cool about it) I'll carry the cheapie Kershaw as well because its not a big deal if it gets taken away

Orh! Thanx Jester! :o

2 years ago, my handwritting had deteriorated to the point where one day I couldn't read a 'post-it' note I'd left to myself. I made a concious effort to slow down and improve my handwritting, and started using broad nibbed calligraphy style fountain pens etc. and started writting snail mail letters to get the practise in.
Then one day in return I recieved from a near-forgotten aquaintance the recipe for a chocolate cake written on a single page in perfect Copperplate. I was hooked. The recipe page was framed as a peice of artwork. And I started trying copperplate. You can only get the nibs in 'dip-pens' because they're so fine, flexible and scratchy, but it aides to slow my writting down.

Non Spyderco Carries
Well ... by far and away Spydies are my most collected and used ... but here are my other all-time favs ...
Top - Buck/Mayo TNT (titanium and s30v)
Counter Cloclwise - Left - Mcusta (damascus handle and blade)
Bradley Alias II (ti and s30v)
Benchmade Mini TiPika (ti and 8cr13mov) Great bang-for-buck.
Bradley Alias II (ti and Tom Devlin Damascus blade)
One other knife (not-shown) is a Kershaw/Williams OD-1 ... very underrated mid/low priced folder.

It's usually my clipped ones that get rotated. For the last little while it's been a BM Presidio Ultra - both the small one and the larger one. Larger one is clipped to my back pocket. I think the Presidio is one of my favorites. BM710D2 is right in there for my BM stuff, but a little large for most things I do. When I'm gardening or doing reno stuff, larger on gets switched out to my SE Altantic Salt. SOG Aegis was there for a while. Depends on when I rummage thru my accumulation what strikes my fancy at the time:-)

Actually I carry a BM32 (and pretty frequently, I may add :o ) simply because unfortunately and for my deepest regret Spyderco still has to come with a comparable thing.bh49 wrote:Such thing doesn't exist.
Why would I carry anything non-Spyderco?

The mind commands the body and it obeys. The mind orders itself and meets resistance.
When I don't have a spydie, I usually carry my
