I heartily recommend the Kopa. They may look pretty, but they're rock solid, tough little knives. Sure, the bolsters will get a 'patina' of scratches but it just adds to the character of the knife.

Thank you all for your suggestion and help. I'm going to save up some money for the new Delicas due to be out soon, and maybe a Caly 3, and Salt 1, and... This never ends does it?

p.s. I collect SAKs (Swiss Army Knives), Multitools, and :spyder: I use most of them, but we all have our shelf queens :D

I too wanted to find a good quality Spyderco which fit between the Dragonfly and the Sage in size. A blade about 2.5", good steel, G10 or CF scales, just a little larger than the magnificent D'fly.

The CAT fit the bill magnificently! I ordered two of the last ones available that I could find. And though the jimping isn't quite up to Sal's high standards, it's decent. And considering all that the CAT is for the money, less-than-stellar jimping is easy to live with, for the price. And the knives fit a size/price slot that none other do. Unfortunately, CATs are now discontinued due to issues with achieving quality control for-the-price. With S30V steel, CF scales, choil & spine jimping... they were a very ambitious design for around $50! Great kudos to Sal for attempting this.

I hope Sal takes another run at the CAT, because this is the only moderately-priced Spyderco in the size range (that I know of).

The Urban Leaf is in the size range, but I think priced a bit out of many folk's range, and it doesn't have a lock. Sure looks like a great knife though!

Spydercos in this size and materials (G10 D'fly & Urban) tend to be street priced at around $90+, which I think misses a good chunk of potential market.

Would it be possible to offer a CAT with VG-10 steel and G10 scales, Taiwan made, for around $70 or $75 street price? Would that be a feasible product objective? Sal... is something like this in the works? (Sure hope so!)

The Japanese steel = knives made in Japans. VG-10 and H1 knives are some of the examples.

I would like to see a lock back designed on an Urban platform (blade), frn handles and VG-10 steel, made in Japan.
