Nice knife, and welcome to the forums. I love hawkbills. What's your other knife?

- best wishes, Jazz.

Hi Jazz, thanks for the welcome! Well even though I am smitten with my harpy it was my "Tenacious" combo edge that started me on the joys of Spyderco!

My wish list is as follows:

Civilian,
Superhawk
Matriarch with brown FRN
Harpy with plain edge
P'kal
Tasman salt
Spyderhawk

and the list goes on.... ;) 2 down and a lot more to go.....

awesome once again,

my parents thought about moving to Australia once and it obviously never happened because I dont live there now.

im sick of the USA to tell you the truth, and we will probably hear about this more often in the future with people hating the new US crap going on.

is Australia cool to live in ?

im scared of the crazy animals that live there, LOL just as much as people are scared of our earthquakes that never happen so i dont know.

Yeap RIOT, Australia is cool, actually I am from South Africa but immigrated to Oz last year with my missus and daughters. Australia was definately the right choice for us. It wasn't cheap or easy but we believe it is worth it.

As far as crazy animals are concerned, being South African, I am quite used to it! I went from Black Mambas and Gaboon Vipers to Brown snakes and Inland Taipans, nile crocodiles to Saltwater crocs, black button spiders to red-back spiders and great white sharks to great white sharks...it really does feel just like home ;)
Cheers

that's a nice knife. i just saw one for the first time at my local dealer. it's a lot smaller than what i thought. i've been wanting another hawkbill. the only one i have now is a microtech kestral pe, and it cuts like nobodys buisiness. i think a serrated model like the harpy would be a great addition to my edc.

Harpy's are really cool little knives and their TASMAN H1 cousins are also really good especially if you want a knife for water-rich work or pastime requirement, i.e. fishing!

I'd recommend them to anyone!

The Tasman would also be good for someone who wants to carry it tip up. (As far as I can remember, it's been a couple months since I've carried my Tasman.)

Yeap I agree about the sharpness...I recieved the knife super sharp, I mean I thought my Tenacious was sharp but the Harpy was scary!
Cheers

Do they produce the Harpy in PE? Everyone seems to sell the serrated version but I could have sworn I've seen a PE version.

Yeah they do but they seem more popular in Japan so tend to be sold there...........the Stainless version has a Plain edge that can still be bought from one of the Tokyo dealers.............

I have at least one PE but its the Carbon Fibre version..........

Image

Top to bottom............Harpy CF PE, Harpy CF SE, Harpy S/Stl SE, Harpy G-10 SE and finally Merlin FRN SE...............

I'll complete this little lot with PE's where available in the next 12 months luck willing.
