I am pretty slow. I will get the wife to read it and interpret the humor for me.

That, or it's just wasn't all that well-crafted in the first place.

I thought it was pretty funny (got it immediately), but the OP probably didn't know that the lovely Spyderco Volpe (and maybe some others) was actually made in Italy. Greece would have been a suitable substitution.

Well, he read the story in the New Yorker, maybe he Can't tell the difference between satire, a fictional story and hard news? (BD, just giving you a hard time, and joking)

On the same subject, a neighboring country club of our's here in the Palm Desert / Indian Wells area had 17 homes hit at the same time by an Armenian group of highly skilled professional thieves. This was a very well planned mission, and they pulled it off with military like precision.

The members were in a state of shock! Total disbelief!

The entire thing was covered up, no news of this ever made it to the media.

This is a tourism driven economy in this valley, and quite a bit happens here, and never makes it in the news. I have my thoughts on how, and why it gets covered up, and bumped, but that is not a concern here on this forum, so I won't bore you.

I found out about this event, as we are friends with members there, and I am a also friend of the club manager. His son has dated my daughter, they go to the same college.

From what I was told it happened very quick, and they got away with millions in art and jewelry. They had quite a large team. None of the people even knew they were in their homes.

I wonder if they carried Spyderco's on their mission? You know, there is a certain romance connected with the professional cat burglar - jewel and art thief.

IMHO the Italian connection added a touch of spice, but anyway Sal has assured us that the Italian Spyderco partners are not jewel thieves, thank goodness.

PS. Dagon, I greatly enjoy your videos, thank you for those.

Hilarious... :D You should rant about how awful Spyderco's customer service is, and then not send them your knife.

Was that meant to be funny or something? It failed miserably IMO.

Attempted humor thread. Dependent on the reader having read another thread making broad negative generalizations about the quality of knives from a specific country and on said reader both "connecting the dots" and finding the OP's attempt at parody/satire funny.

It could have been funny but I did not quite get why the OP chose two countries that have never produced a single Spyderco.

The alternate theory being that it would have been easier to assume it was humor if NONE of the three had ever produced a knife for Spyderco.

That's it! No more Montenegran, Serbian, or Italian Spydercos for me! If they can't find something better to do with their time than rob the rich, I have no use for them, and won't buy any more of their products!

If you're speaking of this thread, it was, as noted, an attempt at humor. For it to make sense you'd have to find the thread that inspired it, read through it, and be annoyed by the ignorance being displayed by some of those who posted there. Even then, the satire the OP was attempting here might, or might not, strike you funny. If you're referring specifically to the post that dragged it back from the dead, you are not alone. :D
