Is there any word on what the next Mule will be, and when it will be released?

Hi Ben,

We have a few in the works that will be close as to when they are finished. The first one finished will be the next run.

There is a special Takefu Damascus that has a VG-10 core and some interesting purpose to their layers.

We have a piece made with Hitachi Aogami super blue.

We have a few new special Carpenter steels.

We have a Takefu Cobalt special.

Thanks Sal for continuing the Mule Team project. It really shows your commitment to your faithful consumers/steel junkies. I don't know any company that has ever done such a thing.

Am trying to see the logic of the Takefu VG-10 core Damascus in a Mule. Just seems like an expensive way to test VG-10.

Hi Paul, it may be an expensive conduit for VG-10, but it sure is nice...a VG-10 damascus is the basis for my Al Mar 8" chef's knife, which has been a lovely and functional performer in the kitchen.

Hi Ken,

Best?????? ;)

By best polished edge, I would assume you mean for "cut" rather than "look".

Honestly, I haven't a clue. That's why we do this. :D

I will admit that we have an "experimental" Carpenter steel that I'm really interested to test. Carpenter has been really good about making up some special steels based on my suggestions and lab testing has proven exceptional.

Yes, I guess I'm asking about finest grain structure and a tendency to resist micro chipping... Something with extremely small carbides. Still hard but, if necessary, yielding some for a smaller, more uniform grain. I've been VERY impressed with the CPM-M4 and how it takes a polish. I love S90V but it doesn't "seem" to polish quite as well.

Understood, but I'd guess you have expectations... Reasons you want to see how these particular steels perform in the "real(?)" world.

What do you expect to see from it??

Thanks, as always, Sal!

I wish I had been on board from the first Mule. I stumbles across a Mule photo in January about 2 weeks before the 06 whatever35V blade. I did grab two of those and will get every model from now on. My plan is to always get 2, one to pimp out and one to use.

I don't care about the order of release, just so they are all cool!

Hi Sal:

Interesting purpose to their layers? Please illuminate.
