New User - Walker or Leafstorm?

#1

Post by GG »

Hello all:
Looking for a small, general purpose knife - something in size between my Spin and Caly III. Have it pretty much nailed down to the new Walker or the Leafstorm, so it's almost a coin flip as to which one. I like both CF and Ti, and can live with the somewhat funky grip of the Leafstorm. The Walker collector value is out the window - it will be used, albeit not hard. So, before I toss the coin, feel to to chime in on which you'd prefer (and why), or is there something else I should be looking at in a high quality, non-FRN Spydie, or even non Spydie?
Thanks in advance,
Greg

The Kiwi and Kopa's in CF are probably still around at discontinued prices.

Both sweet users in their own right albeit not as exotic as the Leafstorm or Walker (blade steel).

One sided opinion. I dont have the Walker (yet), but do have the Leafstorm. If you can deal with the 3 finger handle hold, it is a great little knife. Very high quality, great cutter, great lockup, beefy blade and also something different and cool to look at. I love the natural G10 scale and the RIL. I never get tired of it. Of course, Im biased.

Definitely the Walker. It's quickly become my favorite sub 3" :spyder: Get one while you can.

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

Get one while you can, hmmmm, good, no, GREAT point. Leafstorms will be available next time I have some spare cash, these probably won't. Think my decision is made. MCM helped on the decision too - great pic!
Thanks all,
Greg :D
