wingspar wrote:Thanks. I used the knife today to cut some background paper in my studio. Came in to find muddy cat prints all over it, so used the Stretch to cut that part of the paper off. Cut very nice.

The Fenix LD20 is a very nice light. I also got a Fenix TK-20, which is color corrected so that you see more natural colors in the light rather than the bright white/blue of the LD20. I did a review of the two lights, and put them up on YouTube, but I don’t know if it’s ok to post the link here since it doesn’t deal with Spyderco, or knives at all.
I would be interested in checking it out.

Thanks. I really like the Stretch. Clipped to my pants pocket, I can’t even tell it’s there.

Welcome wingspar, congrats on getting a stretch. I've been thinking of getting one in vg-10 myself, already have one in ZDP189. It's a beautiful and useful knife.

Beware tho! you've been bitten by the :spyder: bug...lol

Great Stretch shots. My Blue Stretch is getting lonely for a partner. Maybe I should get that Black VG-10 sooner than later!

Thanks for the comments. I just pulled everything out of my pockets to change my pants, and was surprised at how large the Stretch looked laying there on a table next to my keys and wallet, since when it is clipped to the inside of my pants pocket, I can’t even tell it is there unless I put my hand in my pocket. So far, I am really liking this knife.

I can only imagine it's because it's not a just released knife and you've only recently joined and not used search. There's been reams written in praise of the Stretch. I'm at the pitch now that I can't be bothered with knives much beyond Stretches and UKPKs. For different applications and times they are my favourites.

I might not have used the search, but I did go back a few pages, and found nothing recent by thread title. I don’t know the history of the Stretch, and became aware of it thru Nutnfancy’s review on the stretch. From all I heard when I started this thread, I thought the Stretch was a new knife. Sure is a nice knife tho.

The Delica is not a new knife, and it is talked about a lot. So much so that I ordered one yesterday. A discontinued model even. Foliage Green Combo blade.

You can always post them in the Off-Topic area of the board. Flashlights are a relatively regular topic.

Nice pictures, and an excellent choice on the Stretch, BTW.

Thanks for the compliments on the photos. I try to take some pride in the photos I post.

I might post the link to my flashlight review there, but I’ll look and see what has been posted first. Of Topic areas in forums are not places I frequent.

This is a sick photo. I'm finding it harder and harder every day to not pull the trigger on a Stretch. My girlfriend will be pissed since we're supposed to be saving for an apartment, but I might sell my Benchmade 43 with custom kydex sheath just to make up the money quickly. I never flip it anyway and it's blade length is WAY too long for any purposes I would find practical

You won't regret it. But I have been carrying either the Blue Manix or Foliage Green one.

Just went on eBay and see there's some carbon fiber Stretches that can be had. :D

Ah the gears of justification :) I heard them grinding away when I read your previous post, Lol.

Selling knives is a great way to get over that hurdle. That way it's just like renting fun stuff for little-to-no money lost.

I came home today and there was a little brown box sitting on the front step. The UPS man dropped off a ZDP 189 Blue FRN Stretch 2.

Pic not the best, but using a camera phone and honestly, I'm sitting in the floor of my living room, too lazy to go around the house and try to find my real camera at the moment. :D

Thanks for the photo compliment. The Stretch is a great knife. I have a ton of photos of my Stretch I’ve never posted before. Blade has some crud on it in the second photo.

those are some great pictures too! I love the one by the river; wish I was there right now (instead of going out into the heat on my way to work until 1am). I hope my Stretch comes before next saturday so I can bring it to the annual family fishing derby! I might try to document every use of it photographically as I'm sure I'll use it a LOT during the two days of fishing, cooking, and drunken debauchery.

It comes razor sharp from the factory. The Stretch was my first Spyderco, and my first really good knife. Up till I got the Stretch, I’ve only owned cheapies or freebies. I’ve added a Delica, an Endura, and a Dragonfly since my Stretch purchase.
