How do you guys do it? Are you very wealthy and have that much excess spending money? Or do you charge everything on a credit card? I dont get it. Before I was unemployed I had a great job making good money but still couldnt afford to buy that many knives in a month. So if you wouldn't mind sharing I would love to know how you mananage that kind of spending in just a month. Thanks

I bought a Street Beat a couple of weeks ago and then today I ordered a Gayle Bradley...Gonna pick up another Street Beat pretty soon...I wish the Terzuola slip-it would be offered without the lanyard...I'm going to pick up one of the FRN FFG Delicas when they are available...

I don't know about the rest of of the forum, but I ran into too many End of the Year deals to pass up and yes, my credit card took quite a beating. It's going to be a few months for my play money to recover. :p I don't do this every month.

For me, it's a different form of entertainment money. With a new baby, my wife and I don't go out like we used to, whether together or with other friends. I don't have any other vices (nor the time to experience any), and with a just a few exceptions, the Spydies I buy usually cost less than $75. Heck, the monthly gas bill for my car is way more that my Spydie bill!

Before I met my wife, my toys had three zeros (watches), they went down to two zeros (SIGs) after I met her, and are down to one zero (Spydies) with the baby.

The sad fact of the matter is that the only personal entertainment I get now-a-days has to with finding, buying, carrying and using Spydies, and telling you guys all about it. :)

Regards,
Ira

PS Note that I always pay for the credit cards in full. If I couldn't, I wouldn't be buying anything.

I have been collecting so long, I seldom add money to the hobby anymore.
Just sell a couple now and then to buy new ones. :D

Wow nice knives guys!
I have to say only one spydie and it hasn't arrived yet but that is the Yojimbo.
However, I've been on a bit of a vintage Buck 110 kick lately and have a few
of those that have arrived in 2010.
Use your blades in the kitchen, it's great bonding time!

I've done exactly as my wife 'suggested' and have not bought a single knife so far this year. I'm anxiously waiting for the new folding Szabo but I guess that could take a while. I may buy the Police 3 in the near future. I find the 43/8 " blade very attractive.
My local knife store just had a small sprint run of the BM AFCK for $225.00 which sold out in minutes. The same store has the Police 3, which looks similiar to the BM, in stock for about $150.00. Is the AFCK $75.00 better than the Police? Me thinks not, if only for the fact that it is almost a 1/2" longer. Buyers probably were willing to pay the extra cost because the BM model is discontinued.
In any case it made me appreciate the Police 3 even more.

So far without the wife knowing too much I've picked up 2-blue/gray sprint run Meerkats, a golden made Meerkat, a Captain, a Tenacious, another couple of Q's, and a Honeybee. I'm tired of hearing "You got another knife? " each time the mail comes.

Superhawk

I'd like to get a blue Manix 2, but funds are tight. May have to wait until the Carpenter version comes out.
