Just in time for Christmas

A place to list and reference all Spyderco counterfeits, clones, and replicas that are found. Anything that isn't a legitimate Spyderco fits in this area.

Just in time for Christmas

I don't know if these have been posted but this guy is an indiscriminate thief of design. Looking over the sellers pages I saw rip offs from at least 5 different manufacturers. He's not trying to call them Spyderco, Boker, etc.... but wow... :eek:

And last but not least my personal favorite. I can't actually figure out who this was a rip off of but if I were Spyderco I would get all over this design as I think it would pounce (no pun intended) off of the shelves. {end/sarcasm}

actually, the hawkbill flatbyrd with spin-like handle is kinda a great concept... except for the whole stealing all of spyderco's ideas part, of course...

I wont advocate any of these.

I have read quite a lot about chinese way of doing business, their philosophy, and may that sound **** strange in the 'western' world /EU, US/ their meaning of making copies, or how they call it 'hommage' actually is about showing respect to the original product, simply said, its something like they build a copy/knock off of the products they think are the best. They feel like they show honour to originals with doing copies of them.

Chinese way of thinking is different as ours, they mostly LEARN at the moment to adapt on the 'rest of the worlds' way of doing business - I work for a major PC producer now, worldwide known, but located and owned by Chinese. I know from my work experience, that often their view on certain ideas, targets and efforts is quite strange and very unusual from the western worlds perspective. Sometimes literally weird.
But I believe, they definitely should respect the intelectual property of others, but in fact, they dont do that at home, as they dont think it is something that needs to be 'owned', as in their way of life, its something what belongs to whole community.

Just felt in might be interesting to see the other sides view as well, even I think this shouldnt be done and accepted in our part of the universe.

No flames pls. ;)

When you look closer the handle looks 99% same as the G10 cara cara, just swapped a police like blade on it. Basically, while the use of the hole is unauthorised, the knife doesnt reseble any of the produced spyderco 100%, what cant be said about another of their model, which is like Lil Temps twin, they even made an ambi clip, which the original doesnt have.
