"NASA" version of the Bushcraft

Scandi
Full flat
Hamaguri (convex)

I probably won't do an orange handle....sorry. I think sales would better support something not so bright. I mean, if it was reallyt hot and requested by the market, then we would certainly provide orange, but that remains to be seen.

My thoughts on the "NASA" version would be something like; full flat S90V, formed Carbon Fiber handles, Boltaron (hi-line Kydex) sheath.

My current thought is to provide a small portable sharpener.

What would make this awesome knife even awesomer is a space shuttle etched on the blade!

I think we will have to wait for the regular Bushcraft to be out for awhile....

But, one it has been out, we could see a 'NASA' version made.

I am interested as well, I have really enjoyed my S90V Mule.

I know the plastic sheaths are more "tacticool" and easier to do, but I have to say that I would very much prefer leather sheath.

This NASA version sounds too good. Any clue as to how much I'm going to have to save for this?

Agreed! As corrosion resistant as S90V has proven (in my experience), I'd much rather see it in a quality leather sheath.

Added: Oh yeah, if you are going to add a sharpener for S90V, better make sure it is diamond ;)

I think the sharpener would be unnecessary - it will increase the cost (even if not much, I would rather have leather sheath without it than plastic with it) and bring little value - if someone actually "needs" it, he can opt to carry one seperately.

I think the easy answer would be to have the sheath the same as the normal one, maybe just in black as opposed to natural brown. It could reduce cost too.

Thermo-Plastic (Kydex, Concealex) can always be purchased after-market

One of them should be convex ground... I think it would be kind of cool to see the "nasa" version convex ground (when's the last time you heard of a convex ground knife with s90v and carbon fiber?) and the regular version FFG.

As much as I'd like another S90V offering, the Bushcraft knife just doesn't appeal to me. So I guess you guys will have one less person competing to get their hands on one of these things if/when the NASA version comes out.

I also agree that leather should be used S90V is EXTREMELY corrosion resistant. A Hamaguri grind on S90V would be interesting.

Oh, come on guys! This is supposed to be the high-tech version and you want to dress it in dead cow? Boltaron sheath with a diamond sharpener made right into the front! Hamaguri grind would be the way to go, full flat will limit its usefulness as a prybar and splitting wedge.

Actually, I'm kidding. I have no interest in or use for this type of knife. I suspect a nice leather sheath will have more appeal to the folks who do use this type of blade.
I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.

With all the trouble with the Bushcraft, will this version still be made?
