Question for tactical rifle lovers

#1

Post by dete »

I'm curious about modern day bayonet and it's variations

I have no idea what they are called,

I notice a lot of them have flashlights instead of knives.

I've seen a shotgun where the barrel has an impact bezel.

I've also seen an assault rifle where the triangle shaped site at the front is a blade.

Once again I have no idea what any of these things are called, I would appreciate any info, links and pics :D

thank you in advance!

Most things you see now days are mostly gimmicks. (triangle front sight blade)

The impact bezel on the shotgun you refer to is actual a standoff for breaching doors. It does make a good impact weapon though.

The strike bezel on flashlights is very useful for self defense as an impact weapon.

As for actual bayonets the best one IMO would be the Marine Corp OKCS3.

thank you so much for your kind words and support,

I'm wondering why you say most of them are gimmicks,
I take it that your not impressed with the front triangle sight...
it looks pretty clever to me at first glance.

I have not seen the "front sight blade" your talking about. If you have a link I would like to see.

But I have also seen a lot of useless bayonet style knives that are just gimmicks. The best one that comes to mind is the

You know having a Bayonet lug was one of the attributes that made a rifle illegal durring thr Clinton ban years. It must have been all those drive by bayonettings that made it such a problem.

Yea those bayonets lugs, barrel shrouds, and flash hiders are responsible for a lot of deaths.

That and I love that it's an "assault weapons" Ban. An assault rifle is defined as a select fire weapon. Which doesn't make much sense, all select fire and full auto weapons were banned in 1986. Gotta love redundant laws that waist taxpayer money. (For shiny foot prints and all I will talk of this no more)

DM

Rljohns. I am not sure. Unless you have a rail extension the barrel will be longer then the bayonet. And as for being on a pistol the space this takes up on your belt would be better spent with another spare mag. You can never have too much ammo.

You did. But what you saw on the AK was the front sight support, which has a trianglar shape. Older versions of the M16 (A1, A2, A4) have the same shape as well.
