Walker CF "sprint" (all new tooling)

Post by hiredgun »

Sal made reference to this knife in thread http://www.spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39237, reply #11. Does anyone have any more information about it? I'm having a hard time finding any proto pictures, materials, price, manufacturing location, etc. Thanks.

Hi Gun,

Very astute.

The Walker Sprint is the only one planned for '09 that might be early '10. We're waiting for delivery schedules.

I can tell you that it's ZDP. The proto's that we saw were very nice. There won't be a lot of them.

Sal,

Without going into details on features, materials and what-not will this knife follow the basic appearance of the C22/C37 or am I way off?

Thanks!

Hi Blerv,

We'll use the same basic pattern, but minor modifications often require new tooling. In the interest of a "better" knife, we usually opt to make the changes before producing the run.

Agreed and thanks.

With a steel like ZDP it should be a very classy and functional knife.

Plain edge is the plan but made in Seki, not Switzerland.

This sounds like a good one. I almost bought an original one that someone had for sale. I just liked the shape and look of it. ZDP - great. Time to start saving!!

I think that the CF/Colored Ti C22 is one of the best looking folders Spyderco has made to date. I hope I can find and afford one of these when they come out!

Ooooh, I don't have the C22, but my C37 is one of my favorite EDCs. I'd be really happy about a new CF/ZDP one! :) ...hope they're not too expensive...

Any hint as to what sort of clip, hoping for deep pocket carry, the new Walker will sport? If this is the case, I'll start saving now!

I called my dealer on friday to get on a pre-order list for these and he said his Spydie rep told him it won't be out for quite a while, at least spring of 2010? I was told it was to early to get on a list and to call back in a few months, which is odd because a list will last until spring :D ! Any idea how many will be made? I have been trying to get one of the originals for quite a while but they bring to much money.

I am pretty happy Sal and crew are doing a remake and cant wait to see it!

What's the status on these? Are these going thru normal dealer channels or is this SFO only? Who's got the lowdown? :) Are they gonna be scary priced?

Had to revive this one.

The "Sprint" that seemed to go under the radar.

Anyone know the size of this run? 500?

Thank you Sal.

This is a good one! ;)
