That's so EXPENSIVE! ;)

I was expecting it to cost maybe $5, and I was gonna get two!
Maaaan, what's the deal--do they have to add skeletonized book covers, and hand-hone the binding? Is there G-10 involved somewhere?

:D :D :D ;) ;) ;)

What is the book about? Knives? History of spyderco knives, or the history of how spyderco came to be and the company?

Actually there was mention in another thread (I forget which one) about this. It also told how to get free shipping. That is how I got my copy for $10.00 even.

I wish they make an updated version. Many things (some of them really significant) happened since the events described in the book. :)

It's about pretty much everything Spyderco; the company, the knives, business philosophy and so forth.

The book is divided into four parts:
Part I: Knives
Part II: Sharpeners and Other Products
Part III: Technological Frontiers
Part IV: The Spyderco Philosophy

The book covers up to the year 2000. Most of us are really wishing for a second edition!

Maybe the reason for the cheap price is a liquidation of current stock in anticipation for the second edition...

+1
I would love to have this book. But as long as only original is available, I would strongly advice anybody, who is interested in :spyder: to get one. Great reference material.

Go to their podcast. Look at the podcast for Sept.29. The promo code is at the end. ;) Free domestic shipping (ends 10/31). I'm getting my copy. :D

Thanks for the heads-up re. the book!

Unfortunately, no. Paladin actually discontinued it a few years ago, and then brought it back when they began in-house printing. Per their latest dealer newsletter, they are discontinuing it again--probably for good.

Stay safe,

Hmmm, interesting. How is the quality of their printing compared to the earlier edition? That was well-printed and well-bound on good paper. Is Paladin matching that???
