I disagree. Just limit the first run to 1 per registered forum user. We all have an e-mail address tied to our forum account that an invoice for 1 knife can be sent to. I think some people are missing the point of the FORUM knife completely. I'm sure Spyderco will work things out for the next one. Take care. John.

Hilarious. Not the clip...the reputation suicide of an online dealer.

I'd like to comment, but I guess we don't need this thread shut downs as well, do we...

I was going to put in the off-topic section.

The topic really isn't kicking a dead horse. More like the dead horse kicking back (the video was put up 13 hours ago...I'm not the instigator).

Sad really....he ended his forum membership because of all the personal attacks. But i still agree it wasn't cool to buy 7 knives just to put on ebay, and then to make a joke out of it and pretty much rubbing it in the faces of forum members who lost out....O.K. i said my piece :o

And he had lost me as a customer before this, so take it for what its worth.

TazKristi: It's all good! I'm glad that they sold so fast in spite of being bummed that I didn't get one. So much nicer than us clamouring for things that don't sell!

I didn't get one but, since I am out of work, I don't have the cash to cover one. I guess I'll just have to hope to find one after I find a job.

With so many good, stable, reliable e-tailers out there, I rarely buy knives from eBay. But for the few that I have, I never saw a compelling reason to buy from this guy over any other seller. Pricing and shipping terms are nothing especially remarkable.

Shocked to read some of his posts here though, an excellent tutorial in alienating customers. Also never struck me as terribly knowledgeable about Spydercos beyond the current marketing copy.

I traded 2 away for other Spyderco's I didnt really want / need.
They went out in the mail today.
(Bought 2 xtra 5 minutes into the sale for the wife & daughter)
Had no idea they would sell out.
I traded for ones I could feel OK about selling on the Bay.
It just felt good getting them to other members in need.
And, no. I did not make a killing at all.........
$160.00? what was I thinking? (just kidding)
I am not in it for the bucks.....
But understand those that are.
Selling knifes for $$$ might be in my future.......
Just not yet........

Ya know, I had to check, and there are 7506 members on this forum as of today, so discounting the fact that the announcement was public and the knives available to everyone, 300 was only enough for about 4% of the forum if everyone just stuck to the "one per registration" rule.

I'm sad that I wasn't one of the "4%", but these things happen. I think I might console myself with a Hawkbill Ladybug and a H1 SpyderHawk. These are actually more of a "forum knife" than a purple flat ground native.

It's to bad the regular forumites couldn't do a pre-order so we could at least have a chance at getting them for the discounted rate. I refuse to pay more than even the MSRP.

Your not going to believe this........

I just PayPal'd a guy who answered a very old want add (I had forgot about) for a Carbon fiber, Plain Edge Civilian. A Grail knife for sure........
Carried, minor clip wear but never used to cut anything.
Ready for this? ............. $100.00 shipped.
Karma? Luck? Twilight Zone...........?

Maybe I need to be nice more often? :D
