Is there any way anyone can induce their Lil Temperance lock to unlatch or loosen with a white knuckle death grip? How about in the left hand?

No amount of squeezing in any direction will unlock the compresion lock. Only by pushing sideways on the lock tab will it release. Since it is recessed this is nearly impossible to do accidentaly. Further more, the lock gets tighter under downward pressure on the blade, so releasing it during use is also unlikley.
