How do you know that someone that has never posted once in this forum didn't buy 30 or 50 and use the code?
Certainly possible but not likely.
We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

Also, I feel like Jess's rants and posts here -- for example, in this thread, talking about the knives he is planning to sell and give away, and talking about all the great stuff he does for his customers -- is a way of advertising and promoting his business on the forums here. That is breaking the forum rules.

Buying lots of forum knives just to resell them -- that is unethical. Posting about it here, which seem to me a way of saying "hey -- check my Ebay sales!" -- is even more unethical. And offensive. In my opinion, you are disrespecting the rules of this forum, and the people who follow them.
Coulden't have said it better myself!!

Not surprised at all though...... as a long time Forum Member I (and others) missed out so you could double dip and make more money .. :( I am SURE that is not why Sal gave us this Forum knife or the Forum Discount..

Extremely BAD form.

I think we'll bring this one to an end.

We made the forum knife and we gave the discount as a way to say thank you to the members of this forum. We genuinely appreciate all of you and your participation.

Spyderco tends to do things differently. We're not in business to be big business. We like to show our appreciation when we can. We tried our best to watch the orders as they were being processed, but in the end, we're human. We were trying to avoid the E-Bay scenario.

We honestly didn't feel that we would have to place specific restrictions or limits regarding purchasing the Forum knife. We thought it was understood that this was something special. We will revisit that decision moving forward.

Kristi
