I have noticed that my para military has some flex at the pivot. It doesn't have any blade play side to side, but if I hold the tip when it is open and locked and apply some pressure like I am trying to close it, it has some flex. It seems like the same type of movement you get with a lockback. Is this normal for paras? I think the movement is coming from the compression lock sliding just a little where it contacts the blade allowing it to move.
Thanks.

same here--unlike a lockback, the movement is when the spine is pressed, not when the edge is pressed. in practice, this makes a huge difference because the blade doesn't move on you when you're applying cutting force.

If you loosen the screw where the blade stop is located and then turn it 1/2 turn and retighten it, that should take care of the problem. At least it did on my last Para. I read somewhere that the blade stop is shaped like a cam slightly (could be a rumor) to allow for blade wear.
