Ive been lurking for a while and thought that I should properly introduce myself in my first post.
I am 38 years old and live in Sweden. My first spyderco was a Co-Pilot that I bought in -91 to accompany me during my military service (military service was unconditional at that time). I had a bunch more use for that small little knife than a bigger fixed blade (SOG Tech II) that I also bought. The Co-Pilot served me well and was edc for many years until I lost it. I missed it like crazy but had not the funds then to shop for a new quality knife.
As time went on I kind of forgot how much use you get from a small folder and some new knives found their way into my pocket. I work in an outdoorstore and we get sample equipment now and then, none holding the quality of the spydies though.
Three weeks ago I bought the H1 Caspian to have as pfd-knife and when I saw and felt that knife I began to remember how nice it is to touch, fiddle with and use something that oozes quality and workmanship. I had some funds to spare and this is what the mailman brought me earlier this morning:
Introduction and new knives.

Thanks. Yes I got them in the same shipment. First it was the Rock Lobster that I really wanted, but once I began look around these forums and see some youtube reviews I came to the conclusion that if I was to pay shipment over the Atlantic I might as well get more goods......
Yes Eskilstuna was famous for its tools and knives. All gone now. In the beginning of the 1900:s we had over 100 knifemakers here in Eskilstuna very many of them making folders. The last knife factory relocated to Portugal this winter.
Many big industries began here in town, most famous being Bolinder/Munktell which were eventually to become Volvo. But also CE Johansson (measure bits), Öbergs (files), Assa (locks) are among famous industries that originated here.

Welcome here.
A really nice :spyder: purchase.
Like the lobster the most. Its on my wishlist.
A shame that all those factories dissapeared to countries where labor is cheap.
Is it a sort of ghosttown right now?.
All the big factories gone, so much unemployment?
I drive a volvo and really like the brand.
I still got the real volvo and its great even with 250 000km on it.
I can double that before it collaps :D .
