Relax, unless you have paid in advance and Spyderco has given you a firm delivery date.
Then they owe you an explanation.
Note: I am waiting also, but when it gets delivered will be when Spyderco has completed this project and is satisfied with the quality of the knife.

Charlie - lets be realistic - they announced the knife for sale April 4th - everyone other than the collectors have received the knife. I did receive a letter asking for payment and I sent it in. So don't try to blow smoke about QC issues. The knife is made and 300 have been distributed. Rico

Hi guys,

Here is the official response: Spyderco made a mistake in releasing the non-collectors' Forum Vesuvii when they did. They shouldn't have been sold until after the collectors knives had already shipped. All apologies.

"The collector's knives are scheduled for engraving in the beginning of June and will ship shortly after."

It appears we'll be waiting for the brown truck a few more weeks. C'est la vie.

Guy's - Yes I am disappointed. Now my question is why the additional delay in processing? It looks like we will not see anything until 90 days after we heard they were for sale!! Why were we urged to get out info to them before April 19th? Rr

Here's a question: Why wouldn't all the knives be engraved at the same time. It makes no business sense to do numbers 201-500 and then wait 2 months to do 000-200.

I think if a collector gets the forum knife it will have the collector's number and a V behind it to show its a variation of the 1st collector's Vesusius (103V). If the Collector doesn't choose to get a forum knife, then it just gets the plain serial number. That could explain the delay in numbering the 1st 200. Just a guess.

rico, do you really expect Spyderco management to be accountable to us here on the forums and actually respond to such an issue? I think you'd get a much better response by calling them up and speaking with the new collector progrom administrator. I do believe Ms. Willaims has handed-off the baton on that duty to a new person. I'd recomment calling in and then posting the outcome for the rest of us. Nothing wrong with posting the questions either.

IMHO... some of you need to unwind and relax a bit. Can't imagine how you would pop your cork if it were a serious problem!?!

Gary - open your eyes. First Knife shipped on April 4th. I will not see mine until July. we have to also look at Spydeco's unwillingness to respond. I have been asking for a long time. rr

SII - If management was on the ball why did I have to seek them out. I sent in my form and gave them access to my money. That coupled with all the non collectors getting there knife gave me the impression that the knife would be forthcoming. As much as I like Spyderco and thier knives I have not allowed my nose to become brown. rr
