#1

Post by golddot370 »

I was just looking over my spyker and thought I would love to see a spyderco strider collaboration. What does everyone think.

Not a Strider fan , sorry.

I always found that the reason I like Spydies so much, is because I hated Strider-like knives. Call me a weirdo, but I never considered Strider to be good cutting tools.
Also, I heard that the inventor, Mr. Strider, actually scammed people, by claiming he has real combat experience, while he had none. But this info may be incorrect, I just remember reading something like that on BF.

I'm sure there are those who would purchase a knife like that, and those who, for various reasons, would not. Personally, I would have no interest in such a knife but, by the same token, I have no interest in a fair number of Spyderco's existing models either.

Spyderco does not need to be connected to an Ex-con like Mickey Ray Berger. His real name. Mick Strider has pulled a lot of stunts in his less than honest past.

No thanks, I would not buy one.

Oog! The mere thought of a Glesser/Berger collaboration made my head implode 10%, some bile came up the back of my throat and I may have peed myself a bit. Then again, opposites do attract in some natural sciences. . . . . . . . . . . nope. Just can't see it.

A collaboration takes an agreement between two reasonable men..........Mick is NOT a reasonable man. Now I like the PT(small) and the SnG is pretty good now that I Krien'ed it, but the blade(SnG) is SOFT and Strider will NOT replace it. Ok, enough of the rant.

I do not really like the owners of Strider after all the truth came out but I do have a couple of their knives and love them.
The trouble I think is they put out all the hipe as cool aid and people drank it up as the honest truth, trouble was with that kind of cool aid when found out to be cool aid hits in a bad way.
Some other companies serve up cool aid by the gallon but they do admit it is cool aid.

As for the colab IMO it is not needed.Spyderco all ready has 2 designs that fills the bill if a Ti RIL was added and that is the Military and the Native.

Striders are nice tools. The buck collaborations are some of my favorites. People have there ups and downs. What was may not be what is now. Not all of us can live every day of our lives perfect...but we hopefully can learn from our mistakes. Take care. John.
