I didn't think that the Chockwe price was right when I saw it.Sounded way to cheap to me,not that I'm complaining if that really is the price.I really want one,and if that is the price then I will jump on one. :confused:

I just placed my order for one. If the price is correct, I can't pass up such a cool knife at such a low price!

I just did the same, hopefully it's the correct price. The thing I'm wondering - since it is Taiwanese/Chinese manufacture, the economies of having it built there MAY mean the price is correct. Look at the Tenacious - $34.95 from KC - a LOT of knife for 35 bucks. Look at adding the cost of the Ti and the additional machining and $75 seems right. As long as Sal and his folks picked the right shop (and I'm sure they did) and they have good control of their QC, the knife might just be the deal of the century. :D

A better comparison is the Sage II which is made in Taiwan with S30V and a titanium RIL. It's expensive and the Chokwe is too - it's a mistake.

I don't know, the chokwe is only half Ti/G10, Sage Ril is all Ti.

The Walker Sage is all carbon fiber and S30v and it's under $100

I also pre-ordered from KnifeCenter at that price it was too hard to pass up. :D

I just checked and two other sites have Chokwe listed at $137 from MSRP of $212 or so. This is what I think we were all expecting. :eek:

So, the big question is will KnifeCenter honor the posted price?? :confused: This will be an interesting business dilemma for KC...

I think all websites have some sort of clause that says not responsible for error in price listing. Happened before, people jump on price error only to have their order cancelled later. If MSRP is that high they probably won't make any money at this price.

Walker lock Sage has an MSRP of $180. I'd tend to think anyone selling them for "under $100" is either losing money or barely breaking even. I believe the RIL sage has an MSRP of $265, Tom quoted $220 as the MSRP for the Chokwe, which seems logically consistent with the other two. Sal commented that, while he didn't have a price sheet in front of him, the price KinfeCenter was advertising sounded too low to him.

Nothing wrong with looking for a bargain but, to me anyway, looking to take advantage of what can only be a gross error in pricing seems somewhat dishonest.

Chokwe does look like a bargain to me. Almost same form-factor as Milli and at such an attractive price. I was not planning on getting one but after seeing the price I think I havr to reconsider.

Agreed. Plus, there's no way they can honor that price, I guarantee they are not liable for price changes before a knife is actually released. Just sayin'

Yep, well said. I sincerely hope there's not a major outbreak of sour grapes when Knifecenter realizes the error. That would be truly bad form.

Why hasn't anyone just called them up and asked them about it rather than simply pre-ordering and hoping?

The Tenacious is made in China, not in Taiwan. We have a good maker in Taiwan, but the cost would be more than double the current cost. We have a good maker in China that makes the Tenacious and the Persistence for us.

Good points. Im going to call this coming week to check on this to confirm price since we dont know officially its an error. If its an error, I will cancel my order since the price point is above where Im willing to pay right now. I will have no sour grapes, nor will I have any whine with my cheese.
