Welcome aboard.

There were some early models with left handed varieties, but that hasn't been done for some time now.

There are a lot of fully ambi models out there, a number of those without any logos on either side.

There has been talk of a runs of left handed Kopas, Militarys, and RIL Sages. Not sure if any of them will materialize and, if so, whether they plan to move the :spyder: or not.

A left hand Military would definitely be tempting for me...

I'm looking into Gentleman's folders (bellow 3") no many choices there for left handed, kopas are beautiful but if they make them ambidextrous it will take away from the design I'm not into extra holes in the knife. With the exception of two there are not any other options there for a Gentleman's knife, I do not like the Sage so, for me, the only one that can be used left handed without much compromise is the Caly3.

In a word, Kiwi. Perfect gentlman's folder, totally ambi, no clip, no bug. Aside from that, given your criteria, your only option may be to pay the "my way" tax and have a model you like customized to suit you.

Just gave my left-handed 15 year-old daughter a Kiwi.

my usual left handed carry rotation:
lava (forum version)
endura (ats-55/se/frn '98 model in a belt sheath, tip down)
endura (vg-10/se/frn '02 model)
poliwog (pe/se/ss)
93mm rescue (vg-10/pe/frn)

and I'll switch my caly jr (zdp/pe/frn) over to left handed.

I've been waiting for the left handed millie to carry a pair of them for a while. Also waiting till the initial ordering frenzy with the ti milie is done before I get one of those.

Wow Deacon! what a wonderful collection! congratulations on your knifes. I didn't know the kiwi is clip-less thanks for the info. This can be an option, other then that I wish there was a left handed kopa and even a wire clip Dragonfly. I believe when the knife has extra holes, to accommodate flexible clip positions, that takes away from the overall aesthetics, it's a compromise.

Thank you.

Spyderco does a better job of accomodating left handed enthusiasts than most knife companies. Many things in production knives are compromises. The manufacturer has to choose between making something which will allow everyone use it, making something 85% of the population will not want, or adding an extra item to inventory. In that light, the extra set of holes is a more reasonable choice from a manufacturer's and dealer's point of view. The extra holes can be filled in.

I carry my knives loose in my pocket, so I take the clips off any I use. Funny thing is, I prefer the symmetry of those with clip mounting holes at all four corners. Different strokes for different folks.

Wire clip G-10 Dragonfly is coming, it's in the 2009 Catalog Supplement so it should be out within the next few months. An Urban or UKPK might be worth considering if you can live without a lock.

FWIW, the method of clip mounting on the Kopa precludes making the clip reversible. It sits in a depression in the bolster. So, if they make a LH version, it will be LH carry only.

Dragonfly G-10 , the perfect knife to start my Spyderco collection. Thank you Spyderco for satisfying a demanding customer. Does anyone know when the G-10 will be available?

If the LH Millie is to become a reality, I want to be in the front of the line for one. I've put off buying a rightie model just because of the rumors of a leftie coming out.

Does anyone have any photos of one yet? Spoonrobot handled one at Blade, so there's at least one out there...

I'm sorry spinynorman. You would be second in line behind me :D I'm of the same mind as you. I've been putting off pulling the trigger on a millie until a lefty comes out.
