What do you think about stainless steel Police model. I´m thinking, this design is no.1 and not so much knife is producing long like this model. Any experience?

Howdy Daga! Welcome to <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>Land! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

The Police SS is, in my humble opinion, one of the best knives <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> has ever produced. It's large, sharp, and will cut anything you ask it to.

Come to think of it, I've been on this board for quite some time, and have never seen a negative comment! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Daga,
Nothing wrong with tip down configuration. I personally prefer it. Like my G10 PE Police and most of my other <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>.

Everybody's got to be someplace. Good thing we're not all the same place<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>.

Welcome to the forum, Daga ~ The Police is an excellent knife, I have one with G-10 Handles and flat ground blade, it's an Awesome <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> cutter.

I with Jeff Smith. Except I have 2 negatives.

First to option of tip up carry. I fixed that myself.
Second no lanyard hole

Don't get me wrong I still love the knife. But those are two things that should definatly be changed.

Now, I have Police with ATS 55 and it´s a wee bit rusting. My first was (if I remember right) gin 1 without rust during allday carry...
Tip down is perfect for rapid fetch out.

I carry the Police SS/PE and love it. Not only is it a knife but can also serve as a kubaton when kept closed.

Daga,
The SS Police is an excellent knife in my opinion. It comes out of the pocket or waistband easily, good-sized blade, and very solid feeling. I also like that the handle is long enough to not be consumed by my hand.
It is a classic by most people's definiton.
Take care,
