I finally got a chance to play with a Barong on my grinder.... :) I have wanted to play with one of these for a time and Ed Shempp brought me one to Blade to play with!! Actually a few of them... :D THANKS Ed, it was a pleasure meeting you.
That regrind looks great, I love the thumb ramp you created on the spine.
Sincerely,
Doug

wow ... your regrind eliminates all the reservations I had/have about purchasing the Barong in that it increases the cutting edge appreciably and also gives the thumb a counterpressure ramp for optimum blade control. It's a beautiful Calypso reincarnated with an even better handle (except without a backlock).
Anyway ... fantastic job. Now my only reservation is acquisition price ... is it now a $250 knife??? If only I were richer ... I'd write a check in 60 seconds. Great art is not determined by price ... but, alas, owning it is !
Great regrind, Tom! It looks like something I would love to get now. I just mailed 3 more regrinds off to you today, hopefully your backlog isn't too bad now (yeah right!) because one of the knives is my Father's day present. I know I will get them soon enough though, and I can't wait until I get 3 more of your regrinds to play with in my collection.
Thanks everyone. I was enjoying this prior to the regrind, and now it may be another perfect carry knife for me.

The regrind is $35.00 and the thumb ramp is $10.00... :)
Great job! I remember watching you fiddle with it at blade and kept thinking to myself... ohh thats gonna be sweet when he finishes playing with it... It is :)
It was great meeting you, and hanging with you as well... I also seem to have forgotten that pink glove :D :D
Looks great as usual Tom. As someone mentioned above, I love the addition of the thumb ramp. Would love to get to handle one of these, particularly both for comparison.
