That was weird! I was browsing on my Nintendo Wii earlier when it was an Eminem video (the song was 3:00 AM), but now that I am on my laptop, it is the knife review.

Thanks for the review wouter, great as always.

Thanks for taking a look guys. I did speak a bit too fast at some points, the main reason is that I got the film done before the 'script'; it should be the other way around. Then again, I always get excited when it comes to talking about spydies.

I used my regular Sony DSC W50 camera for both the video and the photos, I really should get a full fledged video camera. I'm expecting my first child, so that video camera proposal will get plenty of support in the budget committee. ;) :D

The swap itself was easy to do, just get the right size torx drivers. I did manage to screw up the centering of the blade though. Even though the blade doesn't touch the scales, it doesn't look as good as before.

Yep, I'm the chief executive officer in charge of cleaning the kattebak (litterbox, the filler material box was cut up in the video).

Thanks for the video-review wouter.! Great to see the inhand cuttingtasks so we get a good idea about it's handling and abilities.

I had some difficulties with my caly 3 blade removing and polishing myself.

Maybe attaching a ziptie to the backstring alligned with the back of the scales helps. So spring is on tension and inserting blade back is less problematic. Also be aware of the female pivotscrew. it should be insorted correctly to allign the hole and shifting it to right our left might help centering the blade?

Cheers

Thanks for the tips. The knife is functionally perfect, the off centered blade is only cosmetic and noticeable when it's closed. I'll keep it in mind though for when I change my mind.

Pilot run Leafstorm. It's not a 'user' for me, but I'll make a video anyways.

Great review :) And I really like the mod you did. If only Spyderco would offer a stock Urban with orange G-10 and a leaf-shaped blade ;)

Btw: I'm not sure where in .nl you live, but if you'd like to try a video review with a somewhat better camera, PM me. My employer gave me a Sony HD camera for christmas but I've yet to actually use it for something ;)

Excellent review. I have an Orange and FG Urban and a Black and Orange UKPK and love these knives but I find myself using and carrying the Urban all the time. It is a great little knife and although I have large hands the Urban works great. I tend to use the last 3 fingers on body of knife with thumb/forefinger on blade in many applications. Anyway, thanks for the reveiw.
