Heading to Johnson City, TN this weekend...

Post by StuntZombie »

The gf and I are going from the Eastern Shore of Virginia to Johnson City this weekend, and I was wondering if anyone might have some input as to how much of a detour it would be to stop at New Graham knives on the way there. Thanks a bunch.

Was tempted to stop there last year on my way to Blade. Might do it this year. :D IIRC, if you're running 81 at all, it would be about 30 - 40 minutes north, off 77.

i lived about an hour from johnson city... a trip to new graham was just under three hours, if i remember correctly... and well worth it. if you're headed south/west anyway, may was well take the detour. even if it adds on a couple hours, it'll be well worth your time... especially if you've never been there before. bluefield can be a bit confusing... there's a VA side, and a WV side.

have fun in johnson city!! :D

Make sure to find out their store hours when making your plans. I would hate to see a Griswald incident like Wallyworld had!

We were able to stop in to New Graham on our way back home, and I must say..WOW! I definitely felt like a kid in a candy store. I think they had just about every Spyderco in the current line-up, as well as a few discontinued models. They pretty much had a wide selection of most of the major brands. In the end, Spydergirl ended up buying a BladeTech Mouse with purple scales, and I picked up a Purple Ladybug (for her) and a Kershaw Scallion in 110V. All in all, it was a great place, and I hope we get a chance to stop by there again in the future.

I'd guess an hour or so for the detour plus hours spent in the store.

Never been there but would like to visit someday.
Not really all that slick ;)
