Spydie etch on the Native I

#1

Post by uncle edge »

Was the Spyderco bug :spyder: ever etched on the Native I models? I see them in the catalog with the bug, but mine arrived with no bug. Its no problem, but a little :spyder: etch would be even cooler, just wondering.

I've seen it on the pink ones and on some of the newer black bladed ones. Can't say for sure it's on the regular ones, but I'd be inclined to think it is. The box your knife came in should have a two letter code on the label, to the right of the barcode. First letter is the month A= Jan, B = Feb, etc. second letter is the year A = 1, E= 5, I = 9, etc. That will tell you when your knife was made. The bugs are a fairly recent addition.

I`ve read 100`s, maybe 1000`s of posts and not once learned about the dating system, thank you for that info Deacon. Mines dated from 08 and the more I search, the more I see they do not have the bug on them, at least the PE versions.

Maybe if I send mine in, Sal could have someone "BUG IT" for me? :spyder: ;) :D
