I think that will be fantastic! I just need to remember to order a Salt 1 for him to do for me!

Take care,

Thanks Lord Vader. However i have to take care of some battlescars allthough that will demand sanding the blade and resharpening again.

The benefit on ffg's with steep bevels is it takes way less time as ordinary 40 included factorygrinds.

Man David those look awfully wicked!! You'll love it!

The problem with this kind of stuff is that people tend to be too overenthousiastic and remove to much material to fast which will ruin the plan...
Take it slow and for small portions like my tip don't go XXcoarse diamond our baster files as the risk of to much metal removed will be more prominent.

Salt grind

I did mine with a small bench grinder never letting the blade get hot enough to require cooling with wather. I like it a lot better now.

Just ground my Salt 1 down to a nice sharp point. Blade shape is in between an D3 and a Caly3. I may keep on grinding down to full D3 blade shape...

Started with a bench grinder to remove most of the metal then sanded it down with 120 grit for a uniform spine and finished off with 300 grit.

Would be cool if Spyderco made Black Salts with a pointy tip and Yellow Salts with a safety tip.

That looks really good, MLR! Personally, I like the concave taper. I think it looks a bit classier than the D3 profile, plus it's a bit more durable.
God Bless Texas!
