Got Engaged!
On Saturday March 28, 2009 I proposed to my girlfriend of 6.5 years and she accepted.
We met at CalPoly back in 2002 and have been together ever since through some good times and some rough ones.
There was a kind forum member here who helped me out with a special gift for her. I was a broke student and couldn't find or afford a blue delica for her, not only did he send me a delica for her but one for myself as well. We still have those knives and they mean a great deal to us.

The ring was kinda geeky cool.
My jeweler sent the stone to Ritani, the maker, and they do a 3d scan of it and model it in CAD. They proportion the head around the stone and do a rapid prototype style wax casting that is really high resolution and then cast the ring. Each one is a custom piece and individually made for each stone. There isn't any metal directly below the stone and it lets in way more light than a traditional setting and makes the diamond pop while not having it sitting way high and easy to smack and damage.
