Starving for Rock LOBSTER!

#1

Post by Sherpa »

Oh man, I've not had knife fever this bad before.
I check about 5 websites about 3 times a day waiting to hear it's out.
Anyone have any info on the Lobsters release into the wild?

PLEASE HELP :(

I don't know that Spyderco really makes an "official" announcement when a knife is out, I think they just kinda start appearing at the dealers. Maybe I'm wrong...

This particular model was delayed for a long time.

The first shipment should arrive in Golden next week. Then they have to go through QC, collectors #'s engraved, and to dealers.

Sorry for the long wait. I hope the model serves you well. Jens too has been waiting a long time.

The production sample is very nice. Shouldn't be too long.

Is it safe to say that the Rock Lobster will be released into it's new habitat this month?
It's going to be the ultimate work knife!

I'm not sold on this one yet but I don't think it will take much convincing

I REALLY want one too. I do wonder how the Rock Lobster will be at piercing -- the 'nose' of the knife seems like it would have limited ability to poke. I guess the advantages of sheepsfoot shape would be no tip to break off = more durable; no point to hurt someone in rescue type situations; better slicing - the straight edge makes for more accurate cutting and is easy to control?

Thanks for the reply Sal! I feel better, now I know I can relax for at least a week or two ;)

I favorited the video review of it on youtube to get me by! I can do this :D

Sal, I want you to know that's the best thing I've heard all week. Now I just have to figure out what "too long" means. :D
