Well I feel like _____!!

Just got back in from putting my dog down. He was the dog in my avatar.

Had the guy for 13 years. Most Pyrenees only make it to 8 or so.

Vet asked if I needed him to come out here NEXT WEEK to check him out. NO BUTT HEAD I Needed you out here today. I had to do it myself.

pyrguy,
I'm sorry for your loss. Sounds like you were blessed with 13 years with a wonderful friend though. Sometimes it's the good memories that get us through the bad times.

My thoughts are with you.

My condolences. I know how difficult that is to do. My cat was like a dog. He'd go everywhere with me. He was my pal and buddy. He got uremic poisoning. The vet could not help and did not know what was wrong with the cat. He later called and told us it was uremic poisoning. My cat passed away with way too much suffering. I could not put him out of his misery. I just couldn't do it. I really haven't gotten over it. So I know how you feel.

Get another Dog; the sooner the better

I feel your pain Spyder-Brother :( I've had to put pets down before and it is very, very agonizing to say the least. I've been to so many funerals of friends, family and other people I've known throughout the years. I've been a pallbearer so many times I've lost count.

But losing a great pet is more agonizing to me than most of the people I've lost in my life. A good dog, a good cat loves you unconditionally. Not many people love you unconditionally and that's the truth.

Not knowing you personally I still sense you're a very good hearted person. And for that reason you immediately need to give another great dog the priviledge of being your companion. Don't even wait at all. The sooner the better because there really is no better way to get over this painful loss you've just had. Try a German Shepherd :) >> The best dog I ever had was a German Shepherd and he was a dog I won't forget in 1000 years. Now go get a new one IMMEDIATELY!!!

I have a chocolate lab, 15 years and 4 months old. Been with me since she was 7 weeks old. Lots of good times. Thinking about losing her bring tears to my eyes. When her time comes I hope it's while she's sleeping. Making the decision to put her down would be the hardest.

Don't let yourself get too down.

Peace

I know exactly how you feel. I had to put down my dog on the 31st of March. He was my best friend for 7 yrs, it was a very hard thing to do. My condolences to you and your family.

Thanks for the kind words.

I know that I did the right time for him. We lost his mate a couple of years ago and I have been waiting for this day but not looking forward to it.

We have two other dogs, three cats and a goat. :D So the house is not empty.

I am so sorry. My heart goes out to you.

I also have a Pyr. They're very special dogs. I dread the day when I will lose our Fluffy; it will be a great loss.

I have heard it said that dogs are here to show us how to live life. As a dog owner, I have had and will have many dogs live their lives with me. The great thing about our dogs is they live life to the fullest no matter what, often right to the end. I think that’s a great lesson to learn.

I wish you luck in coping with your loss.

Jim
