S90V Mule handles, first attempt.
S90V Mule handles, first attempt.
Hello, I have finally finished with my first project of creating handles for Mule. :)
It was really hard for a first time and I hope that my second will be better looking and less effort. All of the work was done by hand with no power-tools besides drill. Enjoy.

Those look great. Do you remember what size tubing you used for your lanyard hole? and does the tub fit snug in the handle hole?

Looks very nice. I plan to try some sort of wood handle on one of my S90V Mules. I have never tried any sort of knife handle project before, so it will be an experiment. I had bought two of the S90V Mule blades, one I sent to Tom Krein for professional handle installation, the other one for myself to experiment with some handle work.
Beautiful work, imatyssik. I am really looking forward to seeing some purple-heart as well.
Regards, Al

more pics as requested.
Here are some more pics of it as some people here have asked.
Really nice work, I wish I could do something similar...imatyssik wrote:Thank you all for a kind words.
I will try to take more detailed pics of this knife today and post them here.
I am also planning to start photographing the whole process for next one with Purple Heart wood (for my daughter :) )
If that was your first attempt I would really appreciate a pictorial guide of the second one.
You have a really lucky daughter...
fede.

Thanks again for more kind words and encouragement from you guys.
I have treated handles with teak oil.
Originally wood was one peace 30mm thick wood.
Now scales are about 10mm each side (around 0.4 inches). That took a lot of work on a sandpaper. Now I have decide not to do something as crazy as this and just go with pre-cut wood to reduce time and effort.
Purple heart handles with newer design coming next. :D
