custom handle for tim wegner (pics)

#1

Post by lerman »

it all started when i saied to myself, "no money for a spyderco this month", then i remembered i have all of the parts (except the handles) for a spyderco tim wegner laying in a drawer, maybe some of you remember it, i posted it a few years ago, the G-10 handles melted in a fire that occurred in a local gun/knife shop a few years ago, but all of the metal parts are functioning and no damage to the heat treating on the blade.
the handle is made out of wenga, and the pins ware replaced with stainless steel screws.
so after a week of staying an extra hour at work to make the handle, i'm finelly done.
here are the pics, (some pics of the work in progress will be posted later today)

Beautiful looking wood. You did an excellent job of rebuilding the Wegner with it.

I wish that Spyderco would built knives like that. I love to see the beautifull
blade of this Spydie in combination with the warm feeling of wood.

That's a knife I would have in my pocket.

Great work!!!!!!!

I have always liked that blade, but scales were just OK. That is a thing of beauty.
