Just got my Sage today. I'm hardly the first one to say this but (ta da!) this may be THE perfect Spyderco for me (and I didn't think it got better than the Caly III).

The Sage has the deep choil and broad/wide handle of the Native, the hump of the Caly/UKPK, awesome textured CF scales, the Caly/UKPK/Urban wire clip, and a linerlock. I've long avoided linerlocks but given Spyderco's ability to make vault-like locks, I'm happy to have this Walker-inspired model.

No grail for me. No matter how much I like my knife, there always is a new one I just have to have. Some are pretty close. I've carried an Endura since 92. It hasn't stopped me from accumulating several boxes of knives of varying brands and types despite the fact that realistically I could get along swimmingly with just one endura.

Stretch.

In photographs, it never impressed me that much. But after reading some comments on this forum and remembering that Sal designed it for himself, I finally ordered one. Once it arrived, I ordered a second one almost immediately.

Had I ordered the Stretch first, I would not have bothered buying a Phoenix and two Lums... nice as they are. Stretch is the one... for now and quite possibly forever (keeping in mind that I'm no longer 20, so "forever" is a shorter time for me. :D ).

My grail is the Howard Veile designed Phoenix. Unfotunately, due to current economic circumstances, and a lousy Aussie dollar, I just can't get it :( , but i looks like a great knife.

I also regret not buying a Spyderco Catcherman.
Top :spyder:s : Caly 3, Stretch, Millie, Manix 2, Police, Kopa, Polliwog, Meerkat, Chinook III, and SuperHawk.

For me it would have to be the Caly III and the mini Manix. The Caly III opens smoother than any knife I have ever held. It's lines are simply beautiful. I love this knife.
The mini Manix fits my hand like it was made for it. For such a big knife it feels perfect in my hand although my hands aren't that big. I have yet to find a knife that compares to these two knives.

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

I would definitely have to go with the Folding Lum Tanto. Second to that would probably be the Sage. The Caly3 is up there as well. When I think of it, I could probably make a list :/.

This might seem lame to a lot of you longer term collectors or people with easy access to Ebay, but my grail knife is a C83 large Persian. I have a mini Persian, which is an excellent knife, but my collection will never be complete without a C83.

Mine is the plain edge dodo, but in a pinch the black one would do nicely!!!
