Pocket Knife saves life

#1

Post by spyderwa »

Interesting article out of Massachusetts about a girl in a car wash that was saved because someone happened to be carrying a pocket knife, Should be required reading for those that want to ban the carrying of knives.

Points as well for the successful use of first aid skills that Mr. O'Leary had been trucking around since the 70s. You just never know.
Ask me where I got my awesome SUPERHAWK!

Had a similar experience a few years back when I cut a baby out of a car seat. EMS wasn't there yet and the car was on its side in the middle of the road. Of the maybe 10 people who had stopped I was the only one with a knife on me.

I never leave home without at least one knife.

Excellent article! Outstanding valor! **** good common sense to have a knife in the pocket! I mean, really, ya just never know when a situation like this, where a knife is required to resolve the issue, will happen. What else could he had expediently used against a scarf made of wool, cotton, acrylic, etc., being drawn into the machinery to save this lady?

Hmmm... I'd say this would be a good reminder to all to check the sharpness of your blades before going out.

It`s very unfortunate for these things have to happen, but it does show how important knives are in our daily lives, and folks who are against knives will take a different view of them and realize that they can be used for a good cause. :)
